Check this out……wow!

Most expensive quilt in history to be sold in Tianjin 2009-08-28 The most expensive quilt in history, priced at 298,000 yuan ($43,623), will be sold at a top-end shopping mall in Tianjin. The quilt will begin its show at the mall from August 29. “At the moment, it is on show at luxury malls around China and then will be transported to Tianjin by air express after the show is over. We will also send special staff to secure it when displayed in the city,” said one manager surnamed Yuan, who is in chare of the sale. When asked why the quilt cost so much money, he explained that the quilt is made of fine down of Iceland goose. The down, hailed as “soft gold”, is the most expensive down in the world and extremely hard to gather. It took the quilt manufacturer four years to make 10 quilts and each quilt requires over 100 separate procedures to assemble, Jiangsu-based Yangzi Evening reported. The 10 quilts were finished in 2008; only two of them remain unsold until now. The other one is in c

New Book Review………………….

Those of you who know me, know I read around a book a day or two, and I am involved in several different series. Ofcourse they are usually of the paranormal type……..I mean who wants to read about real life crap when we live that all ready everyday, lol. Anyways, sorry about the rant, the newest book in the “Dark Ones” series by Katie MacAllister came out recently, yaaaaa!!! And I give it a 5star rating!! “In the Company of Vampires” took a little different twist than the usual Dark Ones novels, everyone was one the level about who and what they were, no real learning curve required in this book, which is kind of nice sometimes. Breaks things up, not as repetative as many series tend to be for those who just start with this book, and none of the before explaining things. But don’t worry newbies the main dark one, Ben, did briefly explain “beloved” rules so you wont be completely lost. My favorite thing in this book, other than the love ofcourse,  is the three viking ghost, they are

Every year our little town has a Christmas parade, its short and sweet and we love to go.  We have cocoa while we stand in the cold and watch the parade. Then go on a ride to look at Christmas lights, followed up by chillie…mmmm! No snow as of yet to stick around but the floats and lights are pretty. Don’t forget santa, not a great pic…he moves to fast, lol And the “Abate” motorcycle club always give toys to the children watching the parade….Nathan is such a ham he received 3toys. We Thank You ABATE !!

New Scarf

Since several things stored downstairs became unusable after our frequent flooding, including much of our winter wear, I am putting  my novice knitting skills to use. I know novice’s should stay away from fuzzy or feathery yarn, put I just love the feel of this and pink is one of my favorite colors. I am such a color and texture freak, lol. Hopefully I will be done before the snow starts.

My latest read….

The new “Anita Blake” novel came out this week, and I really like it for the most part. I like that Anita and Richard both to seem to have “grown up” not as much personal or inner drama, drama, drama.  I am glad the oh so much worried about “death” in this book didnt turn out to be someone I really love in this series. I have seen several others leave low approval of this book as Anita doesnt do much cop/marshal work, but she did help out as a marashal in a very big way I thought. And I really liked that this time she didnt have a bunch of bigoted male cops or agents to treat her like crap as they always seem to do previously. I especially liked how “love” is the major weapon that is needed to win this new war beginning.
